Deidre Tomlinson is a Ph.D. Student at York University in Toronto, Canada.  Her multidisciplinary research explores how physical, emotional, and aesthetic dimensions of cities (i.e., playfulness, joyfulness) influence human well-being.  She has presented and published work in the fields of (adult) playfulness, urban planning / design, architecture, public art, environmental colour. and sensoriality.  Deidre was and is currently a member of editorial and curatorial boards, including UnderCurrents: Journal of Critical Environmental Studies, the Inclusive Design Associate Newsletter, and CounterPlay Festival's book, The Power of Play.
